Summer and fruit go together like, well, summer and fruit. I love popping fresh berries in my mouth and biting into a peach fresh from the local Saturday Farmer’s Market. Near the end of the week, I often chop up whatever’s still sitting around, cover it with a sweetened bread crumbs or a crumbly topping of oats, flour, sugar and butter, and stick it in the oven. In less than half an hour, my house is perfumed by bubbling berries, peaches and plums.
